What is Recyclobot?
Recyclobot is a hypothetical brand with a target audience of children ages 6-10 years old. The brand can best be described as a playful, eco-friendly subscription box that sparks kids’ creativity by turning everyday recyclables into build-it-yourself “robots” and “creatures”.
Process Summary
This project involved several stages, including physical construction, logo development, and poster/typography design. I began by conceptualizing an idea and building a “robot-like” creature using only recyclable materials and common craft supplies. Next, I designed a logo for the hypothetical company Recyclobot.
The final, and most time-consuming, stage was creating the instructional poster, doubling as a fact sheet. This included photographing my completed creation as well as writing three educational facts for the front of the poster, and designing a detailed step-by-step instruction sheet with illustrations on the back. The goal was to make the process clear and engaging for children who might want to recreate the project at home.

Logo Process

Before developing the official logo, I started by sketching a series of at least five logo ideas. A few of these concepts built off one another, while others were completely different explorations. Despite the variety, they all aligned with the look and message I was aiming for, helping me refine the final design.

After looking at my sketches, I chose one the I think feels best for the job and I begin bringing the idea to like in Adobe Illustrator.
